Napoleonic French cuirassiers

Painted almost an year ago. A classic. Not one of my best work. Yet, Napoleonic cavalry always rock!

L'empereur et ses chasseurs à cheval

I posted some time ago on my mounted Napoleon from the Italery French command set https://flowersinyourcannons.blogspot.com/2018/05/lempereur.html. I now provided the emperor with a couple of guys from his chasseurs à cheval bodyguards, from the same Italeri set. I am veeeeeeeery happy with this trio!

L'empereur

Long time since my last post. I kept on painting and playing, though. I just didn't find time for photographing my work and posting. Anyway....here two pictures of a brushwork I am really proud of. Napoleon and his friend Marengo. I did them for a painting duel on the Benno's Figure Forum.
The figure is from the Italeri box "French imperial general staff".

Napoleonic French dragoons

I break this 3 months silence with my first unit of French cavalry. I like these dragoons a lot. I spare any other word and let the pictures speak on my behalf.

Medieval French - DBA IV/64

Ladies and gentlemen, fresh from the oven, my DBA medieval French army. It took quite a time to paint and base, but I am more than satisfied with the result. It was also the first time I used coffee grounds for basing; I mixed it with white glue and static grass, then I cover with a thin layer of gloss varnish when dry and added here and there a bit of grass to break the brown monotony. And there it came Agincourt battlefield conditions. The only hope now is that history will not reapeat itself in my next DBA battle.
