Early Germans - DBA II/47

First 4 bases of my Early German DBA army. The figures are from Caesar Miniatures. First attempt at speed-painting: 20 minutes each figure, including priming, matt varnish ans basing, which is a good result compared to my snail painting standard. First time I tried the Army Painter quickshade, which allowed only base colours (no washing, no highlights). The result is not bad at all and you really can get a good looking army in little time. The only flaw is the annoying glossy effect left on the figures, which needs almost two layers of matt varnish to get rid of it. I look forward now to complete the army and test it against my Marian Roman.

FIGZ 2015

Some shots from FIGZ 2015 (Arnhem, The Netherlands). It's been quiet, nice, and with a lot of great 1/72 works. Thansk to Remco, Benno & Co. for organising it. Thanks to Jan for the BFFFWP: over 80 figures from all over the world into a fantastic diorama. Thanks to all participants and BFF members for making it a great event.

La prise d'aigle - BFFFWP

I said the Brunswick lancer was my last entry to the Benno's Figures Forum Famous Waterloo project. So I thought. Then this special Hagen figure fell on my desk crying for colours. I did the best I could to honour this famous scene from Waterloo.
